In summer 2016, about 16 students from the XinHe (Shanghai, China)  Campus of North Cross School came to North Cross’ Roanoke, Virginia campus to prepare for their SATs. They stayed in American homes, had usually four to six hours of intensive SAT classes daily with me, as teacher, then had fun on campus or visited local sites or university campuses in the evenings. Overall, the students had lots of fun and leaned much about the English language and life in the USA. Their summer program ended with their taking the SAT then flying to California and back home in China.  After the summer, their camp director said their SAT performance was outstanding.  It was a great experience overall. Since I speak Chinese and have helped Chinese speakers improve their English since 1989, I was able to pinpoint and explain common Chinese-English errors to the students, which I hope helped them make fast progress.

A local TV station interviewed several of us. Take a look!
