庆祝 2021 届毕业生的成功! 他们忍受了学校的正常挑战和过去三个学期与新冠病毒的非凡挑战。 然而,他们熬过了这个夏天,毕业了! 阅读他们的成功故事!

Graduation Day is a MAJOR milestone in anyone’s life!  However, the Class of 2021 has special reasons to celebrate. In early 2020, most of the world went into Covid quarantines and lockdowns. For these students, most of their last three semesters have been majorly disrupted. There have been temperature checks, online classes, and missed end-of-year events like dances and graduations.  Many “normal” high school experiences were denied these young people, through no fault of their own. The price has been high. Still, these students have ENDURED and OVERCOME. Despite all the setbacks, disappointments, and losses, THEY GRADUATED.  As we say in English, “The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.”

We salute you, Class of 2021!

Here are the DreyerCoaching graduates:

Ryan Chen:

Taipei, Taiwan

Ryan joined DreyerCoaching.com in 2013–as a 5th grader–and kept learning with us, thus earning him the “most loyal student” recognition and also a place in our Hall of Fame. (Please see Ryan’s part on that blog to learn more about his impressive achievements.) Ryan is known for his diligence, steadiness, outstanding English skills, and diligence. Year in and year out, you could count on Ryan being first to join each class.

Over the years, Ryan has enrolled in a mix of writing, reading, and vocabulary classes, and this comprehensive, “all of the above” approach helped give him the strong, well-rounded skill set he enjoys today. In addition to taking classes each school year, he usually took supplementary classes over the summers and Chinese New Year breaks too. (I remember one winter he took a 1 on 1 class with me where he made PPTs and reported on a freak snowstorm Taiwan had experienced.)

Over the years, Ryan’s mother has been one of the most enthusiastic, faithful parents to kindly tell her circle about DreyerCoaching and how it has helped her family.  Seeing how Ryan’s English has grown over the years, his parents have since enrolled their younger daughter with us as well. We are deeply grateful for such “extra mile” support.

Accounting is in Ryan’s blood because his mother is a senior accounting executive in a global accounting firm. Ryan plans to study accounting at National Taipei University.

Congratulations, Ryan!

Mandy Chen:

Hsinchu, Taiwan

 Mandy

Mandy joined DreyerCoaching while she was in middle school and she is one of those blessed souls who studies English not just because she needs the help or wants a boost at school, but she genuinely enjoys English and second languages!  Mandy found DreyerCoaching because Ryan Chen’s mother was kind enough to tell her about us. Once she joined, she too took classes non-stop, including many summers and Chinese New Year holidays.

As a high school senior, Mandy’s “dream school” was Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan. Begun by Christian missionaries in 1955, Tunghai is Taiwan’s oldest private university and boasts a beautiful campus, a prestigious ranking, and the world-famous Luce Chapel. Famous for a spirit of innovation, Tunghai recently began a new “Special Foreign Language Talent” program and only admitted about five students when Mandy applied. Despite a competitive application process that involved essays and group interviews, Mandy earned one of the few spots in that coveted program. Mandy is making her dreams come true as she plans to be an English teacher.

Congratulations, Mandy!

Hank Tsai:

Taipei, Taiwan

 Hank

Like Mandy, Hank too found DreyerCoaching thanks to Ryan Chen’s mother’s kind introduction. Hank studied one year of high school in the US State of Missouri, so he already had outstanding listening and conversational skills.  He joined us during his junior year and focused on TOEFL and SAT skills, with the aim of studying overseas again for college.

Hank has an ebullient spirit and infectious smile that brought enthusiasm to all his classes. His dream is to become a journalist, so clearly he needs excellent English. As I often told him, that is an important profession and the need for honest, skilled journalists has perhaps never been greater. Hank has gained admission to a prestigious university in the Netherlands.

Congratulations, Hank!

Eason Shen:

Shenzhen, China

Eason joined DreyerCoaching around the time he entered high school, and immediately impressed me with his impressive intellect and quick wit. He is both an athlete and a scholar. Despite his full, rigorous schedule with school, Eason makes his English improvement a top priority and schedules his 1 on 1 DreyerCoaching classes at 9:00 or 10:00 pm on Fridays or Saturdays. Such dedication!

Eason loves history, geography, and politics, so his DreyerCoaching guide-teacher Mr. Taibee spent much class time with him reading and discussing news reports in English.

After a grueling exam in the summer of 2021, Eason scored high enough to earn him a place in Shanghai’s coveted  Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). He is planning to study in the areas of media/communications, human resources, or international business.

Stella Feng:

Taipei, Taiwan

Stella joined DreyerCoaching as she was starting her senior year at an international high school. To show “It’s a small world” and “The sun never sets on DreyerCoaching,” Stella’s father found us courtesy of a mutual friend who was on the tiny, tropical island of Guam learning with us. Stella first engaged our services to get some help with the college selection process, then she joined our advanced vocabulary and reading comprehension class to help her prepare for SATs and college for the rest of her senior year. Stella exhibited a consistently positive, diligent attitude and clearly has a bright future.

So there you have it! These OUTSTANDING young people, making wise choices, getting a quality guide, and doing the work NOW so they can succeed TOMORROW and for the rest of their lives! Bravo and Hooray!

We salute you all, Class of 2021!

(No one ever “graduates” from Dreyer Academy LLC, because, to paraphrase a popular radio host, “the learning never stops.” We believe learning is a lifelong endeavor, and no one can ever say “I have ‘arrived.’ I have nothing left to learn; I know all there is to know.”  All of us always have room to grow, learn, and improve.)
