Personal Statement

I officially retired from full-time teaching English on the secondary level after 42 years. My mother was an elementary teacher and my daughter is a teacher also and we  have about 100 years experience among us. I’ve been tutoring part-time  for the last three years. I’ve lived in the beautiful Roanoke Valley for about 45 years. My daughter and three grandsons live in the area also. I go to many lacrosse games and basketball games to watch all three boys play. I enjoy cooking for them and going to some of the fun and  historic areas Virginia and North Carolina with them. I also enjoy gardening with my flower and playing with  our  very sweet and smart Shih Tsu puppy.
