A college student’s new, positive habit

Despite just being a Christian for one week, and not knowing much about the Bible, I have never doubted the strength and power of God. I prayed to God before I went to sleep every night this week. It helps a lot! I used to feel dismal and cheerless when lying on the bed just thinking about how tiring and busy the next day would be, but now I can ask God for help. I pray to God: although I will surely be tired the whole following day, I ask Him to still give me the passion to pursue knowledge from studying and show concern to the people around me. In this way, I feel a joyful and sparkling spirit in my heart and mind, and therefore have a great sleep which results in a delightful new day.

This student’s story reminds me of a famous, well-loved passage in the Bible:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. –Jesus, Matthew 11:28-30 (New International Version)
