We discussed how the word &#8220;get&#8221; has MANY meanings and uses!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By itself, it means &#8220;to pick up, receive, or take possession of.&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">get<\/span> some milk and eggs at the store.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Get<\/span> a cup of water if you&#8217;re thirsty.<\/li>\n<li>We often <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">get<\/span> snow in January or February.<\/li>\n<li>I hope we <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">get<\/span> some rain soon because mom&#8217;s flowers are too dry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It can also mean &#8220;to change or become.&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s supposed to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">get<\/span> cold this weekend.<\/li>\n<li>Lots of retired people move to <a href=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/thumb\/1\/15\/Florida_in_United_States.svg\/1200px-Florida_in_United_States.svg.png\">Florida<\/a> because it doesn&#8217;t <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">get<\/span> very cold there.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/ontheworldmap.com\/usa\/state\/virginia\/virginia-location-on-the-us-map.jpg\">Virginia<\/a> has a pretty mild climate but it can <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">get<\/span> pretty hot in the summers.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But when used with some other words, it has MANY more meanings!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>get better: to recover from an illness or improve at something<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">get<\/span> enough sleep you&#8217;ll <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">get better<\/span> after awhile.<\/li>\n<li>If you want your English to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">get better<\/span>, join an <a href=\"https:\/\/dreyercoaching.com\/beardeddragonmedia\/english\/how-they-work\/\">online class with DreyerCoaching.com!<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>get cracking (get crackin&#8217;): to start work quickly and energetically; of homework EACH night to keep up.
